The insurance rates will rise in 2010

Mutual insurers differentiate auto contracts, including changes in claims remains uncertain, and health insurance and housing.
Soaring insurance rates for individuals fizzled. If the French Federation of Insurance Companies (FFSA) announced on Wednesday a rise in prices in general, the grouping of mutual insurance companies (GEMA) was used yesterday in moderation. Andreck Gerard, president and chairman of Gema of Macif has made a distinction between the three main markets of individuals: the self, the multi-hazard housing and health.

Car Insurance
Jacques de Peretti, chairman of the committee of insurers of the FFSA and also CEO of Axa Enterprise, had said during the "Days of brokerage that increases in auto insurance rates would be" quite significant "because of "strong reversal of the claims. For Gerard Andreck, there is indeed a "deterioration in claims experience in both frequency and amount in recent months, but these are just statistics to end of August. However, changes can be very fast, "observes he, before recalling that" Last year we had two semesters completely opposite in terms of claims.

The mutual insurer considers therefore does not "have quite yet the basis for deciding" price of car insurance next year. And even worse if the number of road accidents and their costs should be confirmed, "each company will be determined by its own financial condition and according to its own business strategy," adds he quoted in illustration two positions Maaf (Member of GEMA) has already said that its auto rates remain stable in 2010 and that the opposite of Axa (member of the FFSA).

Home Insurance
In insurance, however, insurers Gema find, as the traditional companies, an increase in claims due to storms and Klaus Quinten's early years and the local recurrence of lower amplitude as the floods of the weekend last. It remains to determine the level of higher premiums could range from 3% to 6%.

Health Insurance
Similarly, health insurance, under regular transfers of costs for Social Security to complementary Gerard Andreck predicted an increase of 3% to 6% for Macif Mutuality. This mutual, a leading healthy individual with 700,000 people protected alongside Maaf Health with more than one million people protected, Gema make a significant player in this market segment. "The share of Gema health insurance will go rampant," says its president stating that the "liaison group" between the French Mutuality (FNMF) and Gema, in preparation for a year, should start operating in October.
